Isaac Chan - Macau
On Tuesday, February 21, Archer Preparatory College students
went to the Ontario Science Centre to see the "Body Worlds 2"
exhibit and the IMAX movie, "The Human Body."
The theatre had an amazing system and a huge screen that
covered the entire ceiling. The movie showed major systems in
the human body. It was interesting to see organs such as our
heart, muscles, and lungs in action. The movie had some beautiful
images, such as newborn babies swimming under water.
"Body Worlds 2" consists of more than one hundred real human
specimens, including entire bodies, individual organs, and body
slices. This exhibition offers a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see and understand our own anatomy and health.
This exhibition displays whole body specimens that reveal bones, muscles, tendons, nerves, blood vessels,
organs and genitals of the body remain. Embryos, fetuses and a pregnant woman who died with her
fetus in her womb are also on display. |

M. Wilker – Head Teacher
This is the first year that Archer College has run an
Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus preparation course,
preparing students for the AP exam, which took place on
May 3. “The course was a good preparation for the exam,”
says Rex Wong, a grade 12 Archer student. “Basically, I
know everything.”
The AP program allows advanced students to take universitylevel
courses while they are in high school, and earn credits
that are recognized at universities across Canada and the
United States.
Wong found the test easy, but was a little worried about his time management. “Overall, the test was not
hard. I didn’t have enough time to finish all the questions in section A, but I think I did ok.” How good is
ok? Wong explains, “I can guarantee that I passed. I hope I can get level 5, overall.” (Level 5 on the AP
exam is equivalent to a mid A or A+ in a university course.)
Archer College is also a recognized exam site for other AP exams. Students in the North Toronto area came
to Archer to write AP Chemistry, AP History, and AP English Literature exams. We wish all the students
writing AP exams at Archer the best of luck in their results! |
